JASON C. HSU
Professor; Ph.D., Purdue, 1977. I am developing simultaneous confidence intervals, exactly adjusted for multiplicity, for differential gene expressions from microarray data. In collaboration with Jane Chang, designs for 2-channel microarrays that allow for efficient and reliable normalization with respect to all potential confounding factors have been developed. Working with my student Tao Wang, multiple comparison methods for drug targeting using microarray biological pathway data are being developed. In collaboration with pharmaceutical statisticians, I also continue to develop better statistical methods for Phase II (dose-response) trials and Phase III clinical trials with multiple endpoints, using the partitioning principle. With the help of Yifan Huang, a student in the department, I am collaborating with David Fastovsky (Professor of Geosciences, University of Rhode Island) on analyzing biodiversity of dinosaurs, to see whether they declined gradually or suddenly became extinct. |
