Biostatistics

Degree offered: Doctor of Philosophy

Areas of specialization:

Present interest in research includes stochastic models in medicine, censored data, pharmacokinetics, survival analysis, design and analysis of clinical trials, discrete data analysis, and environmental health statistics.

All requirements listed below are in addition to general Graduate School requirements stated elsewhere in this bulletin.

Doctoral degree requirements:

The core curriculum of the biostatistics program includes training in stochastic processes, analysis of variance, survival analysis, design of clinical trials, bioassay, nonparametric methods, censored data analysis, and survey sampling. The training in biological areas is accomplished through courses in preventive medicine, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and/or genetics.
