Welcome to the Stat 135 websiteSpring Quarter StudentsTalk Sports and Get College Credit??? As registration quickly approaches for Autumn 2008 we want you to know about a course you may be interested in and have fun with. The course is called Statistics in Sports. The only prerequisite is one GEC statistics course, so stat 135 qualifies. In the course you discuss and debate sports issues and scenarios of all kinds, and you work with real sports data sets to back up your opinions. Who's the best quarterback? How can you get an edge in the NCAA basketball tournament? What's the best predictor of a baseball team winning? Past students have had a blast with this course. The course is Stat 201.01, the call number is 20227-7 and it meets MWF 11:00-11:48. It's a 3 credit course. First Midterm: Here is the five-number summary for the scores on the first midterm: Minimum = 22, Q1 = 75, Median = 85, Q3 = 92, Maximum = 100 (28 students). Second Midterm: Here is the five-number summary for the scores on the second midterm: Minimum = 28, Q1 = 73, Median = 86, Q3 = 94, Maximum = 100 (26 students). Final Exam: Here is the five-number summary for the scores on the final exam (percentage out of 200 points): Minimum = 24.5, Q1 = 61, Median = 76.5, Q3 = 86.5, Maximum = 100 (3 students).
